Intensive Holotropic Breathwork Workshop - January 2027

21 Jan 2027 – 24 Jan 2027, 5:00pm / Workshops

When and Where

21 - 24 January 2027

Start: Thursday, 5:00 PM

End: Sunday, 2:00 PM

Where: Velosimed Center, Kokra 72, 4205 Preddvor, Slovenia

Our center lies in the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, in the beautiful valley of the Kokra River. It is surrounded by hills and peaceful forests, where wild streams and torrents flow into the crystal-clear Kokra. It is an excellent place to relax, walk, run, climb, hike or cycle. If you stay a day or two longer, you can head into the mountains on well-marked trails, either on your own or accompanied by certified guides. Or you can simply enjoy relaxing in nature or in our sauna.

Holotropic Breathwork in Brief

Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and personal empowerment. It relies on our innate inner wisdom and its capacity to guide us toward positive transformation and wholeness.

Holotropic Breathwork can contribute significantly to personal and collective transformation. The method combines breathing, music that encourages inner experience, and work on releasing tension. In this way it allows access to non-ordinary states of consciousness and the exploration of deeper dimensions of the psyche.

Holotropic Breathwork can help heal the effects of past emotional or physical trauma, reduce anxiety and stress, ease symptoms of depression, express and release emotions, and inspire creativity.

Many also report that it helps them sense a deeper meaning and purpose in their lives and greater authenticity in everyday life.

About the Workshop

Our four-days 2+2 intensive workshop includes two full holotropic breathwork experiences as the breather and two as the sitter, along with preparation, integration, and time to simply stay with whatever has opened up.

People come to holotropic breathwork for very different reasons.

Some are at a turning point in their lives. Others keep running into emotional or relational patterns they understand, yet feel that understanding alone has not brought change. Some arrive with no particular problem. Perhaps they are simply curious.

Or perhaps we sense that beneath our usual ideas about ourselves there is another layer of experience, one that thinking alone cannot reach.

Holotropic breathwork does not offer ready-made answers to these questions.

What it does is create conditions in which we can temporarily loosen our usual ways of organizing experience and allow something less controlled to emerge, and sometimes something surprisingly intelligent.

Stanislav Grof described this capacity as an inner healing intelligence: the psyche's inherent tendency toward movement, integration, and greater wholeness when the right conditions are created for it.

We take this idea seriously.

That is why we do not try to produce catharsis, steer your experience, or decide what should happen.

Sometimes a powerful process unfolds.

Sometimes something very quiet happens.

Both can be equally important.

Why 2+2?

A single holotropic breathwork experience can open up an important process. But inner processes do not necessarily follow a workshop schedule.

That is exactly why we value the 2+2 format.

Over four days, you breathe twice and twice accompany another participant as their sitter.

The first experience may open something that then keeps working quietly. The second breathing session does not simply repeat the first. The process may deepen, turn in a completely different direction, or bring up something that could not show itself before.

In between, there is time.

Time to sleep.

Time for a walk.

Time to draw a mandala or talk about the experience.

Time for deep human connection.

And also time in which you do not have to understand the experience right away.

This space between the two experiences is an important part of the process.

Not everything that happens in a non-ordinary state of consciousness needs to be interpreted immediately. Sometimes an experience first needs to be lived, felt, and allowed to settle.

Accompanying another is part of the experience

The 2+2 format also means that each participant spends two sessions beside another person as their sitter.

At first glance, this may seem like the less important half of the workshop.

In fact, it turns out to be the opposite: sitting for several hours beside another person without trying to fix, direct, or explain their process is usually a profound experience in itself.

Holding a safe space

We have been organizing workshops like this regularly since 2010, but despite our many years of experience, we never underestimate the processes. On the contrary, we are aware that non-ordinary states of consciousness can open very different layers of experience.

Joy, silence, sadness, fear, intense bodily sensations, memories, images, existential questions, or experiences that are hard to put into words may arise.

That is precisely why the quality of the environment matters so much.

At the Velosimed Center, we do not understand holotropic breathwork as a technique for producing special experiences.

We understand it as a deep process of healing and opening of the psyche, one that needs preparation, careful holding of the space, and integration.

Our facilitators have experience in psychotherapy, holotropic breathwork, and working with non-ordinary states of consciousness.

We are available throughout the entire process, for the whole workshop and afterward as well.

If something difficult opens up, you do not have to remain alone with it.

At the same time, support does not mean that we take the process over from you.

Whenever possible, we follow rather than lead.

What happens in that space belongs to your own process.
